1. How long is the flight from London? What airlines fly direct?

A direct flight from London to Las Vegas is about 10 – 11 hours.

Direct flights are from Gatwick on Virgin Atlantic, Manchester on British Midland and from Heathrow on British Airways. You can also travel via Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Boston or Chicago. This takes 14 -15 hours including stopover

2. What airlines fly direct from Europe?

American Airlines, Air Canada, British Airways, Continental Airlines, Delta, Thomas Cook, United and Virgin Atlantic all fly direct into Las Vegas. Most searches will turn up travel via Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Boston or Chicago. You can also fly into New York or Chicago to access Southwest Airlines, Jet Blue, Frontier and other low-cost carriers that fly inexpensively into Las Vegas.

4. Is it cheaper to take an indirect flight?
In general, yes, indirect flights will be less expensive than direct flights. Most searches will turn up travel via Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Boston or Chicago. You can also fly into New York or Chicago to access Southwest Airlines, Jet Blue, Frontier and other low-cost carriers that fly inexpensively into Las Vegas.

5. I’m not staying at Mandalay Bay – How far away is it from:

Excalibur – 2 blocks (about a 20 minute walk)
Luxor – 1 block (about a 10 minute walk)
MGM Grand – 6 blocks (about a 20 minute walk)
New York, New York – 0.9 miles (about a 25 minute walk)

Other transportation options are:
Taxis:
Taxis run regularly throughout the city and between hotels. The fares start at $3.30 for initial activation of taximeter, plus $0.20 for each additional 1/12th mile. Waiting time is $30.00 per hour. Some locations may have minimums or extra fees. Most taxis in Las Vegas do not accept credit cards as payment.

Mandalay Bay-Excalibur Tram
This monorail’s route varies based on what hotel you start at. If you start at the Excalibur main station, the monorail will take you directly to Mandalay Bay – about a 3-minute trip. If you start from Mandalay Bay, you will stop at the Luxor and then the Excalibur – about a 7-minute trip. It is in operation 24 hours a day, and trains leave every 3-7 minutes.

The Las Vegas Monorail (MGM Grand to Sahara)
The Las Vegas Monorail runs from the MGM Grand to the Sahara hotel. The route has seven stations: MGM Grand, Bally’s / Paris, Flamingo, Harrah’s / Imperial Palace, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas Hilton and the Sahara. The monorail is open Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. and Friday – Sunday, 7 a.m. – 3 a.m. Rates for the monorail are $5 for one ride, or $14 for an unlimited one-day pass and $30 for an unlimited three-day pass. Tickets can be purchased online at the Las Vegas Monorail site.

7. What is the cost of a taxi to the Mandalay from the airport? How long does it take?

Taxis run regularly throughout the city and airport. A Taxi will cost between $16-$20, for up to 5 people traveling from McCarran Airport to Mandalay Bay. Taxicabs are available outside on the east side of baggage claim, outside door exits 1-5. Note: Most taxis in Las Vegas do not accept credit cards as payment.

Mandalay Bay Convention Center

The Mandalay Bay provides concierge service for show guests that you can contact for show ticket reservations, tours, transportation, dining reservations, and any other needs you might have while in Las Vegas. For your convenience, a concierge station will be set up at the Convention Center. To make arrangements ahead of time, call 702-632-7777 and ask for the concierge. Concierge services are also available daily from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Mandalay Bay Main Lobby and in THEhotel Main Lobby.
